I got some news yesterday that kind of rattled me. Sally called to tell me that her son, my ex, the father of my two oldest children has testicular cancer. As soon as she uttered those two words, my jaw dropped. I am rarely speechless, but that time I was. I suppose it was a good thing that I was at a loss for words because she poured her heart

Cancer is always a worry of mine. My last 3 paps were off. And I was supposed to have a follow up in August and I skipped it. My mother had uterine cancer when she was 42. She had a hysterectomy and was fine. I hope it's not a genetic thing for me.

Cancer is a worry of mine too as it runs in my mother's side of the family. This recent turn of events was a reality check for me. I also worry about whether my kids are pre-disposed for getting cancer now.
