Hey there! I miss you around here!

I'm sorry that the Effexor isn't cuttin' it for you. What dose are you taking? I take 150mg. and it works, but I still have occasional crapass days. You might want to try a little higher dose, before giving up on it. I remember when I was on 75mg. I felt crappy most of the time, then 150 made a huge difference. Some people even take up to 300+mg. a day. It is a good med for depression, though. As far as therapy goes...I quit that because of the cost. I'm going to look into a depression & anxiety support group, they are either cheaper or FREE.

I had to laugh about the uuts. HAHAHAHA! I wouldn't wanna deal with that. Oy.

AH! We consilidated bills and refinaced since your last post. Ah, yeah, I totally understand money woes. Totally. ((((HUGS))))

Well, I am so glad that you posted. Don't stay away so long...people miss you!

What dose are you taking? 225mg/day. I read that the max was 300. The withdrawal symptoms are supposed to be horrid. I experienced some of them when I skipped a day just to see what would happen.

i was taking 300mg a day which worked great, but my insurance won't pay for me to take the 150mg twice a day (which is what you have to do with the controlled release form). now i'm on 225mg and it seems to be fine..not too much of a difference, but then alot of situational things have changed too. the withdrawls from it are retched!!! i have had a few times where i ran out and waited a day or so to refill or other various thing that prevented me from having it a day or so, but that's all it takes. spinning, headaches, feelings of electrical shocks every time you move, irritability....blech ( ... )

Tell your pdoc that this dose isn't cutting it for you. He should be able to fix that, one way or the other. I really think that talk therapy, even just a few sessions might be helpful to you. I went for awhile to therapy and then stopped. I want to go back, but not to the lady I was going to.

The best thing to do is tell your pdoc. He specializes in getting the right meds to make you feel better. You should not have to suffer. Maybe you need a different med. or a combo. Everyone is different.

Effexor is working well for me. I still get down and have bad days, but my general outlook is much better. It took awhile to kick in and work, though.

I am here to listen, if you need an ear.
(((hugs))))

Is there a different med they can put you on? I have heard that Effexor is one of the best out there, but it might not work for everyone? Maybe your pdoc can figure out something for you. Might need to add another one to make you feel better? I'm not for sure what can be added, if anything, to Effexor. I don't know much about that drug. I hope that you can start feeling better soon.

I might help you when uuts is out of there. Sometimes things like that will drag a person down. I know that would drive anyone crazy, with the stuff he is doing.

I'm sorry about bankruptcy. I know that you probably have looked at every angle to get out of this. *hugs* I'll pray that things will get better for you.

Glad you posted!!! Been wondering/worried about you!!!!

You and I have talked about Effexor...it worked great for me...was at 300 mg/day for quite a while and once I was stabilized dropped it to 75 mg/day. Right now I am not on it at all; even though I probably should be, but not having insurance any longer makes it too difficult to pay for.

I know the feelings on the bankruptcy, but you will get through that hurdle and be okay...been there and done that...it really isn't soooo bad.

Let me know when a good time to call is...I miss talking to you!
