I really liked it too! I thought it was an interesting, smart new way of updating the characters and stories.

And I've avoided Sherlock Holmes stories ever since I had to teach them to a bunch of bored, ungrateful kids, heh.

Indeed! I like it when something like that works out so well too. Though obviously I am only basing this on one episode so far!

Ah, oh dear! I still feel I should read them though. I think they'd count as a "should have read at some point" series of stories.

It's a Toshiba SD2010KB. It's a little noisy when the disc starts spinning when playing a DVD, but I didn't notice it when I had the West Wing playing.

And I tried a dled show on it (Rizzoli & Isles first ep - which I have now seen up to the credits for, coz then I had to stop and go out!) and it worked absolutely fine. Plus a film too.

Cost me £28 from Comet (order on the net, pick up in store and get the internet price of £5 cheaper!) though it's also the same price on Amazon.

I liked the first episode (I think I did anyway- I didn't hate it, that's the main thing!) the second sucked, and I'm halfway through the third, but I've been told it's been picked up for more episodes, so yay? lol

It was weird watching it though because I couldn't stop thinking how much Sherlock/Benedict Cumberbatch looks like an older version of Merlin/Colin Morgan.

Oh! Now that you mention it...

And read Sherlock Holmes! :D Mum gave me the entire collection for Christmas, and they're still keeping me going. Brilliant stuff.
