I'm so glad you were able to get a new start on your novel! As to why you couldn't have the epiphany sooner . . . perhaps you weren't ready for it. I don't mean you didn't WANT it (because I'm sure you did), but your brain hadn't yet worked it out . . . and then it all came together and you had that brilliant moment of revelation. Our minds are beautiful things. =)
