When I was 16, I went to college. I left my lovely home in a small, mostly white, middle-class Chicago suburb to go hit it big as an MTV VJ on the West Coast (suppress laughter here). Tired of the "scene" in the Midwest, I left for USC, smack in the middle of Los Angeles and worlds away from what I knew

I am working up the courage to see this movie - even the review in Rolling Stone left me a bit shell-shocked. However, it would be cowardly to shield myself from something so powerful just because it might hurt to look.

I'm glad you went, and hopefully we can talk about it soon.
