Now that I am a bit calmer, I can explain the parental saga more completely.  Basically,  last Sunday, when I called my mom to ask if she and my dad would like to be recognized at the reception, she told me he wasn't coming.  I pretty much said, ok, whatever, and hung up the phone.  I can live with it, perhaps there will be less drama without him
