Once dinner was cleared away the three Noonians, began to finish up the preparations for flight. Which mostly seemed to consist of putting everything loose away, finally Noon and Kirrin looked at their passengers, Noon ushered them towards the stairway that led up to the flight deck, “Safest place for you all is in your bunks with the shutters down ( Read more... )

For a moment, it looked as if Dan was going to protest being confined to his bunk, but Hsu just gave a small shake of his head. He'd experienced these take offs, and could imagine that heading into space would be even more intense. And, having been a ship's captain before, he respected that the commander's word was law on their ship. "It's Noon's decision, so we'll be on our way. And leave the comms on. I think hearing what's going on will be most interesting. Come on, Daniel ( ... )

The whooping stopped before the engines did, finally the engines cut and for a few seconds everyone felt the effects of freefall and then the artificial gravity caught up. Stomachs took a few seconds more to rejoin the game. The few seconds of deafening silence from the flight deck was very different from the jovial jesting that had gone before ( ... )

"Ngggghhhhh!" Hsu had experienced his fair share of stomach-churning seas in his time, but even the worst storm had not prepared him for anything like this take-off ( ... )

Well, it's a kind of flying... amandanoon March 30 2015, 19:12:42 UTC
The following day Noon wandered into the communal area and looked around at her ship mates, what she really wanted to do was take herself off to the empty cargo hold and spend a few hours flying around by herself, but she’d realised that Daniel at least would be keen to try out this new activity ( ... )

Since leaving Earth, the two Hsus and Xiao had spent their time getting used to life aboard a spaceship. One benefit quickly became apparent as with an artificial night and day, Xiao was no longer limited to sleeping during the day. Living in such close proximity to each other, with little privacy, would take a little longer to adjust to.as would filling their days ( ... )

Cooking 101... amandanoon June 11 2015, 13:58:16 UTC
“Come on flyboy, I believe I promised you cooking lessons, and I never break a promise.” Noon stood at the top of the steps watching as Daniel finished off another practice flight with Thing ( ... )

Daniel looked at her with a mixture of doubt and near despair. Learning to pilot he loved, and zero-G was a lot of fun, even if he was still getting the hang of it. But cooking of any form was pretty much an alien concept to him. "Uhm, no. Why would I ever have made bread? My limit is getting a slice and throwing into a toaster ( ... )

“If you can make bread and cook an egg you can survive most things and homemade bread tastes nicer. Besides, sometimes the shops are too far away.” Noon said with a chuckle ( ... )
