random marriage update

dear lord where does one begin! Wedding went off without any unfixable hitches lol. My photographer bailed but this nice old guy from church took over. Just kinda took up photography in retirement. At the rehearsal I totally wasn't paying attention when it was my turn to do vows. I was like HUH...What... I found my wedding liscence under the piano hours before I needed it! Wedding day the church sanctuary air conditioning broke and it was absolutely roasting. I declared....I don't care...we are getting married today. Probably my most bridezilla statement. The AC everywhere else worked and I saw a dude working on it....trust me, it wasn't finished in time. Matt's tuxedo buttons fell off and my Mom had to fix them. The cake cutting set was lost but atleast the cater had a blank one and I had only paid $5 for my set on theknot.com. I promised my mom it was okay and I meant it. I saw her cry earlier over a table cloth. My mom is my calm source, that was an unreal moment! Not even the Bride cared as much as she did lol.

We had nobody lined up to do a blessing/toast or announce us at the reception but it all just fell into place as it was time to happen. My brother Greg of all people announced us in. SHY GREG and he did a good job. Matt's friend said blessing and my Uncle Bill took over the mic the rest of the night. I told mom he'd steal the spotlight at some point but it's always a good thing! Dancing didn't last long but that worked out alright. We still didn't get home until midnight and had to get up at 4am for the airport!!!!

I doubt that I could articulate the wedding properly. My father told me I looked beautiful and hardly got it out. It woulda been funny sounding if he hadn't made me do the same. He's NEVER complimented my looks EVER. Somewhere in there he loves me, just been a strange last 24.9 years I suppose! Come to think of it everybody cried...geeze lol. Everything was so wow beautiful. Walking the aisle is this awe struck experience, you forget it's your little cinderblock church you've gone to since you were four! Probably the first real time I've allowed myself to hog spotlight hehe it was fun! Our crew looked wonderful and was SO helpful. I remembered to say my vows and my dad stepped on my train after giving me away :) I liked getting hitched! We had a beautiful wedding.

Reception was pretty cool too. We had a pasta bar, it went slower than even they had planned but the food was excellent. Pick your own pasta, watch them cook it yum! Matt and I cut a brownie cake...bridezilla moment 2...not even at my wedding am I eating cake I hate cake :) Dad sang to me the whole time we danced and made us all cry some more. He has a truly wonderful voice and is very musically gifted I wish he'd do something with it. Song number three was the Doobie Brothers so it cheered him up. We had two dances basically, and the third involved him throwing off his jacket and shaking his butt. Any other moment that would have been totally embarrasing lol.

Well hubby should be home momentarily and the dog is running about. Not good when it's an English Mastif! Plenty more to yak about and I definately don't do the whole event justice here or thank all the people I need too. Love y'all!
