I know! Moving away is always my first instinct I feel like. I've done it so many times that I think it's the natural thing to do now. I actually had alot of fun that night. I met two Texans and it made me feel alot better. And surprisingly they were the ones who brought up how weird they thought California was to them. Thanks, Have a good one, too :)
I know how you feel..i'm in this situation where everywhere we go it's graham's friends and that's fine, i like them a lot, but it's always all dudes, and they're SO skeptical. it's like i constantly have to prove myself twice as hard. i have to be on my toes all the time, like i have to be "chill" like dudes think they are and i can't say anything too girly or annoying or whatever the hell they think. it gets so old. i mean it's not like that all the time, mostly i noticed in in California. People are so skeptical in california! Like you said, texas has hospitality. but remember texas isn't the only place with that. i'm really liking oregon..just try to do your thing and seriously fuck people that don't appreciate you for who you are. just keep forcing it, just keep being honest and standing up for yourself. you just have to convince people that you're committed to who you are and they'll either back down or you'll realize their not worth your time. it's so hard to see past people's egos when you first meet them : \
Man when I was with Colin I felt the same. I always hung out with his friends (majority was male) and all the time I thought, I just want to be girly right now!
It's funny 'cause everyone that I meet that's new, and we actually have a decent conversation I always feel the need to mention how now matter what, i'm not going to change out here for anyone, I will never be like the people here. I think I get alot of respect for that. But I also get people who seem a little intimidated by it...and those are the ones i'd like to avoid.
I hope your roadtrip is going well, and no more car problems, insurance issues, and guys who don't know how to drive, haha! I miss you dearly and you're a wonderful person :)
yes texas is known for its hospitality and nice people but there are some outliers who really suck and are extremely rude (dallas) so there are going to be outliers in california who dont fit the typical bitch personality and they will be your friends be patient and just spend time with yourself if the friends you are finding right now suck
running away is easy but its also really hard you moved thousands of miles away kind of on a whim thats something to be proud of and also to make something of
Yeah I haven't called those people in days. They didn't show up to ballet today and I was really relieved. I want to distance myself and if they cared they would call to get some coffee or study together, you know? But I know they're not gonna and to be honest it is no skin off my back!
i know exactly how you feel but coming home makes me think...why the fuck did i make this mistake. i can't wait to get back!!! the sunshine...the new experiences...being challenged!!!!!!!! bein homesick is a bitch tho!!! when you come home and visit you will be ready to go back i bet by the end of the trip!!! keep yer head up!
It will definitely take time for you to get adjusted to a new environment. I really think you being in California is such a good thing. You made a wonderful decision. Anytime you move away to a new place you will feel homesick, it will start to feel like home soon enough and when you do visit Texas you will be calling California your home. I hate being this supportive because what I really want to say to you is come home!!
