The Cheek Monster is sick. She's had a complication to a common cold and because her lungs are tiny, she couldn't breathe so they took her to the ICU. She's fine now and eating and breathing right, back to just a nasty cold, but she still breaks my heart because she's a helpless cub who doesn't understand what's going on. Nah, don't wuss out on us. Come around sometime. 24 is way improved this season for sure.

Poor sweet thing. Sick little ones are so very heartbreaking. As you say, they don't understand. They are also resilient, so I hope little Cheek Monster is feel much better soon. Pinch one of 'em for me.

The pain alone is pretty scary for a baby, but not being able to breathe? That freaks ME out!

She's Ok now, she'll still be in the hospital for a few more days, but she'll be there for cheek pinching for her very first birthday.

My sis was very sickly as a baby, and it's such a hard thing to see them like that, particularly for parents. :( Glad she is on the mend.

And you can't reassure them that everything's going to be OK and the pain will stop cause they have no idea who the big dude in the white coat is and why he's taking them away from mommy and daddy.

She'll be in the hospital for another five days or so and then I hope I can cuddle and spoil her again.
