There's a show called New Amsterdam? I don't know how I always manage to miss the new shows on TV until everybody talks about them. Not that I've heard more opinions about this show yet, but maybe it would be a great moment to check it out and don't feel left aside when everybody talks about it.

LOL. I doubt you're missing much. I only watch it for the NYC atmosphere. I really miss my city. It's just a typical cop show, except this guy is immortal and he flashbacks to his adventures from a century ago. I still hope to see as much of old New York as I can before it gets cancelled.

I can't say I'm all that interested in the plot. I just want to see as many shots of old New York as humanly possible before it gets cancelled. I kinda like that Omar is his son actually. I predict some major drama when he dies and John has to go through that. I would imagine that could have happened a lot in three centuries... watching your kids die. It's pretty... haunting.

I don't like the doctor lady. I'm not too crazy about either of them, but after watching her flirt so blatantly and... invitingly with him (I know married people aren't dead... but there's more than one kind of flirting and this was the "I'm available" kind) and then introducing her husband... I really don't like her. LOL. Maybe I'll change my mind if I watch some more.

I hate triangles... husker77 March 11 2008, 17:58:02 UTC
I'm totally with you! I somehow forgot about the premeire therefore, I missed it, too. :( But I watched the second episode and DVR-ed the one from last night.

I'm a little leery because of the possibility of the triangle. I'm not sure where they are taking the whole thing with his partner since they've spelled out that Doctor Sarah (why are all female brunette doctors on my shows named Sara? lol) is "the one."

As a side note: I noticed that Sara's hair has been lightened... which threw me off for a couple of scenes. Do they think the audience is so stupid we can't tell the difference between her and his partner?

Side note #2: I'm still freaking out because the actress that plays his partner was on Rome. I'm still trying to reconile the two very different characters in my brain... :)

I hope they don't take the premiere ratings in consideration when they decide to canel it, lol! It looks like a lot of us forgot.

I've never seen either of them in anything (well, I know Nicholas is Danish) and I'm not too crazy about either of them... Dr.Sarah gets minus points for flirting with him in an "I'm available" kind of way and then introducing him to her husband.

I saw the pilot and wasn't very impressed. It was OK, but I disliked his partner and thought the show, in general, was kind of routine.

I think the whole finding your ain true love thing is kinda corny for this format, but I don't care. I'm only watching it for the location, lol! I think it may be a first in the history of television viewing. And I really like that Omar is his son actually. It will be very daunting when he dies cause I imagine that will SUCK for John, especially if it's happened before in three hundred years.
