I remember I used to know this instinctively as a child. As a kind of lonely child that is. I think I've always been vividly aware of just how very few people you can find in life who are truly worth the trouble and how the majority of them are really... not. I don't know why that instinct has been sort of... asleep lately, but I think I've ( Read more... )

I don't know if it's going to work out in the end and if we're going to end up working together, but at least we're talking to each other on a regular basis now so that's all that mattered.

I have the same problem. I tend to be very much in my head, and it's hard for me to find people I like enough to let them intrude upon that. I've got a lot of friendships that I've maintained for years, but I'm not entirely sure it's for my benefit as much as theirs (or habit). So, yay, I'm glad you reconnected with someone that lets you be you. Because you're pretty awesome.

I believe that's probably the main cause of my single status.

All crazy catladies are superawesome. It's the felines rubbing off on us. ;)

I feel like I know you pretty well, especially given that I have actually spent time with you in person :), but the more you tell me, the more I see how blue you are (I promise I'm going to post the details about the colors as soon as I get a chance to come up for air).

That's great. And you're right, I learn more and more each year as my friends and contacts from high school and college become more scarce that most people you just won't stay in touch with and it's probably better that way. I'm happy that you've re-discovered a relationship worth the time and effort and that you're going to be able to incorporate your passion for interpreting into re-establishing this friendship. *hugs*

a tried and tested friend is worth his (her) weight in gold, so it's wonderful that you were able to reconnect with one of them. and having so much in common is an added bonus - my closest friends aren't very savvy when it comes to law, so a huge part of my life is either shut off for them or requires me to explain everything from basics and even if they're willing to suffer through it, in the end they usually don't really understand why I'm so excited about a particular issue anyway :P. so it's twice as great that you're in touch again with someone you can share your professional passions with :). I'm happy for you :)

and good luck with getting busy on the weekends :)

Hey, you!

Yay, it's great to hear from you again.

I still have catching up to do with at least two friends from college, but this was a good start.
