I haven't been this tired since... yesterday

Sep 30, 2008 16:08

I'm so listless and devoid of any kind of energy that I locked the door to my office (slow day for others, I worked on a document for five freakin hours!) and simply laid down to rest on the floor for a while, listening to Depeche Mode. Nobody showed up so I might as well go back on the floor and take a nap ( Read more... )

Hey, before I forget, I've got to go back and read that thing you posted the other day. (Hadn't had the chance prior.)

Anyway, you eating OK? Maybe that's why you're feeling rundown. You should get checked out!

you eating OK?

Nope. But I do plan on looking up some funky recepies for red meat and iron-rich foods, it seems to be the only way I can get interested in cooking.

Arg, I'm coming late to this (as always these days), so I hope you got your protein in the meantime and feel better! *hugs*

"I worked on a document for five freakin hours!"

That's one reason why I stopped studying translation...it can take forever to do one single (boring as hell) document, and it can be really draining.

You have your own office now? Spiffy :)

Yeah, that's why I wanted to be an interpreter. :) Nah, it's OK actually, I take it as an opportunity to learn stuff. I was translating in a couple of meetings for one of our engineers about sludge management (from a treatment plant) of all things and I had to agree with him it was actually interesting because there I was in the middle of decision making about how our city is going to deal with after-poop sludge and all the things you can do with it and things you can't. So I try to look at written documents the same way. Work tends to energize me, it's my diet that seems to be the problem this month. I need to cook myself some pork chops tonight.

Sorry you're so drained.. Depeche-nice. I'm kind of a DM hussy. :)

I have the same problem of getting tired very easily. To answer your q of what to eat, carbohydrates causes spikes and plummets in blood sugar so will make you feel sleepy after the initial high. Proteins like nuts, meat, fish & dairy products give energy since they don't cause the blood sugar fluctuations.

When I flipped flopped my diet around, eating the larger protein meals in the morning (i.e. eggs, celery w/Peanut butter, & yogurt), & smaller carb based dinner (a clear broth veggie stew, salad, rolls/butter)..I could tell the difference in my energy. If I go back to a carb breakfast & lunch it's snoozeville again.

So anyway, maybe that would be something that would work for you.

Hope you get some of your groove back :)

*hugs*

I've been googling the dietary treatment of fatigue and now you've put me in a further dilemma: I was going to cook pasta with fish but apparently I can only have the fish... I promise to make pork chops tomorrow. :D Oh well, I'm off to the kitchen for whatever I can find for breakfast. I eat at work because I'm too lazy to wake up earlier, but our office kitchen is cozy enough that I can probably work in some serious protein for breakfast.
