Well, I haven't seen it, but I will say this review does not increase my enthusiasm. I will withhold judgment, but. . . Clint with a family?
It does feel to me like a conscious attempt to make sure a woman is paired with a more powerful male, instead of the more obvious (and equitable) choice.
I feel like a lot of the instant reaction that says she's being reduced to a love interest might be missing that she HAS a love interest, which is in no way the same thing. I didn't see her as the damsel at all, I felt like she totally had the upper hand in all of that - if anything, Banner was the damsel in distress. That's all I have to say about that. JMO.
Also agree re: Ultron v. Loki. I mean, Loki wanted to rule through submission/oppression. Ultron just wants to destroy full stop. One is definitely worse than the other.
Oh, I like what you say about Natasha being the pursuer--it reminds me of course of the way Clint was the closest thing the first movie had to a damsel in distress (though not anything like a powerless one), and Natasha his rescuer.
Yeah, Loki wants to rule and he needs subjects to be a king! Ultron wants extinction. If I have to choose one to take over my earth...

Well, like I said, can't take the Clintasha away from me. And this movie still gave me plenty of fodder to feed it.
