Of Bats and Cats

Today I saw The LEGO Batman Movie. I really should be talking about how it was a masterpiece of parody, how every frickin' frame had at least 3 in-jokes in it and some had dozens (Easter eggs? More like a damn chicken farm)...but right now the thing I wanna mention is the cute talking-animal commercial which preceded the movie advertising a product ( Read more... )

Not only do dogs take a lot of work out of owning a cat (they'll even keep your garden clean of burried poops!), they can also be used to keep small toddlers clean as well. Just let the kid run without a diaper around the garden and the dog will make sure there's no muss, no fuss.

Dogs are great. And also, beyond disgusting.

My old Doberman used to clean up after horses, then want to give me a big tongue kiss.

Speaking of bats, I've been reading all of Fabularasa's Superbat fics - are you the amanuensis who beta'd her stuff? It's so goooooood.

That would be me who had that very great privilege of drooling over her works--yes, that's the truth, there wasn't that much to beta! Mostly me just going "OMG I LOOOOVE THIS" because yes, she's freakin' amazing. I can't get enough of her DC universe delights (and me mostly a Marvel girl! What's up with that)!

Decades ago, just out of school, I lived in a big house in Ann Arbor with a bunch of friends, like you do. I had a cat, and there were 3 dogs living there, too. For many months I thought my cat did its business outdoors and that was why I never had to clean the litter box. Then I saw the kitty litter on a dog's lips...

Well supposedly they eat poop to get minerals they are lacking from their diet. I think it's kinda like how we crave chocolate and chips when we're hungry. Chickens do it too.
