Yeah, I was bored...I'm finally getting around to finishing the second Niah book. I have to edit my first one and re-title it. The green book...don't even ask. It needs serious work.

I was talking to one of my best friends the other day and it was about going to college/choosing a career and how it was affected by emotional attachments. It was determined that if you choose a job as a young person (single) and it has a sort of life risk, you are still all for it. However, if you have someone you really love, like a boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance, you have to think of them and reconsider, in a sense. She was telling me how lucky I was to be without emotional attachment when choosing a job, but, consider that I want to be an equine/livestock veterinarian. That job isn't risk-free, but it's not like I'll get killed on a call unless the patient decides to maul me, which I doubt will happen unless I'm not careful around a rabid/sick animal. Emotional attachment won't really affect my job. To be intrested in something like becoming an astronaut or FBI agent or in the CIA, however, is apparently different. You have to consider what will happen if you are injured or, heaven-forbid, killed on the job. And yes, I love the freedom of being single, but sometimes I'm envious of some peoples' relationships. It happens in those moments when I see the old couples by the water dancing to the music a street player is performing. When I see marriages that genuinely appear to work. It makes me sad, but luckily, only for a while. Then I find something else to do and I'm happy. I've heard that when you are born, there is an invisible red string tied to your (pinky) finger. And that it connects to the person that you are destined to meet when you untangle the string from the rest of the world. And it may end up being someone you totally don't expect, and they may be right next to you, but you don't see it because you haven't untangled the string again. And when you have untangled the string, someone can try to tangle the string again and drive you two appart...
