What's with the lack of good television these days?  I don't know if I've been particularly engrumpinated lately or what, but everything just SUCKS!

House:  Don't get me started.  It started going downhill with the Tritter storyline.  Then House lost his team.  Then he started this stupid Survivor thing (and yes, while seeing Jacob/Carmen  ( Read more... )

I've been so disenchanted by tv lately that I didn't even kick up a fuss when we had to drop our cable to save money. I still have netflix though, and I'm finding that there are a ton of shows I never watched and can enjoy now and not feel too invested over years of watching if they start to suck. It's how I found SG1 actually,(recced to me by Netflix after going though Voyager and Farscape) and now I'm on season 3 of NCIS, and just caught up with what's been released for Psych and Chuck.

I think if I go out and buy a fancy antenna, I might get a few channels.

It's good to know it's not just me. Since it was happening with every single show I was growing increasingly worried that I was the problem. Occam's razor and all.

Yeesh. Stupid world.

I think going to make some calls to find out about at least suspending my cable. Sort of a trial cancellation. See how it works out.

I kept thinking I was getting old and crotchety, and my hubby is like, "I think it all sucks too, and I'm their demographic!" I don't know what the element is that bugs me.

The only thing I really miss about not having tv is for the mindless stuff when I'm doing chores. I used to put on food network, animal planet, a lot of those garden/home shows when I cleaned or was really bored, and I do kind of miss that since I don't rent "Trading Spaces" or whatever show.

I do the same thing - I frequently listen to the television while I'm working on other things. It's good background noise; I don't work as well in complete silence.

But I hear there are these newfangled doodads that work like magic, pulling music right out of the air! And then!! And then these amazing little things actually play the music they capture through their built in speakers!

How awesome is that?? Pretty ingenious contraptions. Don't know why no one invented them before. ;)

Don't even get me started on House. Ugh.

I loved Castle too initially, but am growing less and less interested. There was potential! If someone comes along and says an episode was really good I'll definitely pick it up again, but for now... meh.

I'm kind of digging Bones, though. A friend got me into it recently and it's pretty good.

I watch Bones off and on too. I never really liked Boreanaz as Angel, but seeing him as Booth I'm thinking he's kinda cute after all. But one of their serial killer story arcs (the one last year, I think) pissed me off. It seems mostly gone from the show now, but I watched yesterday's episode and the previews for next week seem to be bringing it back. So not impressed. Grr.

Good that you're digging it though. Nice pun, btw. Woof ;)

I agree that Castle still has potential. I really, really enjoyed the pilot. And that's enough to bring me back if the show gets better. But at this point, I'm so disappointed with television in general, I'm not sure I even want to bother. :(

PS: OMG! I LOVE THAT ICON!!! "Mine is an evil laugh! MUAHAHAHA!" Glee!!
