We have plain animals around here too, like crows, squirrels, and seagulls.
The most common wild birds I've seen lately have been robins and stellar jays. (I left some bread out for the jays, but ended up attracting seagulls. There's a lady down the street that dumps bread unto her driveway every day at the same time, so I suppose that's the reason why there are more seagulls on my street than most.) Though, in the spring and summer, there are hummingbirds that stay around for a couple weeks. The males have brilliant red throats. I love the little things, and they'll come pretty close to people if you sit still near a feeder for them. Bears usually only come to town in the fall and spring, and I've yet to see a moose since the two I saw when I was 12.
But, I'd say you probably see more wildlife than I do in a single day, even if you think it's mundane.

When I was a little kid, I once caught a pidgeon by throwing a beach towel over it. =X They're neat birds, in how tame they can get just from people feeding them. Too bad a lot of them carry diseases, and things.

When I was trying to decide what kind of pet bird to get, I thought about getting a dove - they're so tame, and some of the fancy pigeons are really beautiful - but we decided we wanted something more interactive, and that's how we wound up with a parakeet. Someday when I'm not living in a very tiny house I want to have more birds, and I'd love to have some doves.
