Yesterday I got tickets to see Feist in Tulsa in April. I'm more excited about this concert than I've been about a show in quite some time. I usually if I get to see bands I really like at all it is after they have already moved on from the material I really liked (e.g. seeing the Red Hot Chilli Peppers now is just now that they are old and mellow ( Read more... )

Speaking for shows I wish I'd know about, I just found out Built to Spill played in OKC on Feb 29th. Yeah...I wish I'd know about that.

I have to admit, I like the shit out of "The Reminder," even though it has a song on "Gray's Anatomy" (which, although I've never seen the show, is actually supposed to be the new "My So-Called Life" for the people who were the appropriate age to watch "My So-Called Life" when it aired the first time.)

Hooray for being the new target demographic!

"Gray's Anatomy" is Cybele's favorite show, and yeah I'm pretty sure she watched "My So Called Life" back in the day. Personally I never understood why people liked that show, and I found Claire Danes annoying. "The Reminder" is a good album. It took a while to grow on me, which is usually means it ends up on the list of my all time favorites. Also I love Feist's ability to make great videos that don't seem to cost a lot to make or require much in the way of special effects. I'm pretty sure her influence is a big part of the reason I like early Broken Social Scene albums. as well.
