I think that's quite fair. I'd be hurt too.

I so get where you're coming from. I think I deleted my journal once and reinstated it less than a day later because I felt weird about it.

So yeah, I think that's fair. It always makes you hurt with worry when somebody just goes and disappears.

I switched names on here but I think it just automatically forwarded everyone to the new one (djc114). That doesn't count does it?

hehe. no it doesn't count. You can even delete your journal if you feel like it (*again, general you here, I don't want YOU to delete your journal*). But I think the least you could do is to let your FRIENDS know that you will.

A few weeks ago, I thought about deleting mine. But I would have posted a msg a few days before saying that I would delete it. I would not have disappeared.

I'm not deleting mine anytime soon, but I get what you are saying totally.
I'd at least be like - hey, i'm having some trouble right now so i'm going to do away with his but you can e-mail me. or something.
i've had the chaging of a phone number thing happen to me in real life and i've always been like, "wha?"

Not unfair at all! I've had some people delete that has made me kind of concerned, some that have deleted and I wait because I REALLY hope they'll come back, and some have deleted and undeleted so many times that it's beyond concern and just plain annoying.
If someone deletes their journal it should mean they're expecting to cut off all ties.

totally understood... and so you know, i'm sure at some point in the future i'll delete mine again, but i'll be back. i always am ;-)

as for who i think you're mainly referring to at the moment, i think maybe he feels he's too busy to keep up with livejournal? that's all i can think of, at least from what he told me last week has been going on with him lately. hopefully we'll hear something from him soon though to be sure.

I am also assuming that he's too busy, which is fine, I can understand that. But how hard would it be to post "hey guys, I'm too busy to keep up with LJ so I'm going to delete this in a couple of days"? Or to send an email? I would have thought our friendship would have been worth that, but I guess he doesn't feel that way. Fine, but he can't expect me not to be hurt.
