 So.... how do I let a guy down easy? Especially since I think I acted like I liked him (and more or less told him) even though I think I was kinda deluding myself since... I have to face it... I was kind of lonely... and hadn't dated/gotten any for a ridiculously long time... so yeah... need help

I don't think there's really any such thing as "letting a guy down easy"... cold turkey is the easiest because there's nothing to prolong the whole letting down, but as long as you hang out with him he'll probably think he might still be able to win you over up to and possibly after you have a shiny diamond on your finger.

you posted from the future too - I guess livejournal is in UTC now? utc is gmt -0, michigan is gmt -5.

and, um... hm. you could invite other guys around in front of him, as in call them on the phone when he's there, or something like that - that would probably end up making him pretty bitter towards you though, so that might not be good unless it's easier to convince yourself you don't want to see him if he's mad at you.

hm... not that I have any experience (and this is pretty late, SORRY KAT!!), but I'd say either upfront tell them you're not interested or just ignore his calls and stuff.

I don't think you should do what Jack says, b/c that could end up messy/mean.
