If my journal is friends only, how do I make a singular post that is NOT friends only, and is available to the public?

I tried the "Show this entry to" and clicked on everyone, but the option is shaded (not clickable) and it didnt' work.

there's a thing on the post page or on semagic that says "Friends only" it will have a drop down box to select 'public'.

You have to post it under your default setting first, and then go back and edit it to show as public.
