Being an American in Taiwan, I'm expected to know everything when it comes to English or all things American. People here think I know about every freeway in America and every chain store in the country despite how regional they may be. Most of the time, people just expect me to know every word in the English language, which is quite unreasonable, ( Read more... )

Don't worry, I do the same thing. I'm always asking people here what certain Chinese characters mean. Less now than before though. I suppose that's a good sign!

you know, i think 搖頭丸 is E.

but i'm not sure. i mean, who the fuck drops e and shakes their heads for a night?

Tim! You're back! Ever since I made my LJ comeback you've been gone. Missed ya, man.

But yeah, 搖頭丸 is E. Obviously whoever named it never actually used it. Shaking your head around while you're on E hurts like a bitch. I seriously don't know what they're getting off on.

i've just got nothing worth while to write about. not in the glorious pathos of prose form anyway.

i've actually seen footage of taiwanese people dropping it and just sit and... shake their heads. it's actually quite sad.

Sit? No no no. You never "sit" at a party. You slouch with a girl on each arm, but never sit. Someone's got to introduce them to swapping pacifiers along with a little lip and tongue while grinding. And you know they can do it too, because Taiwanese kids nowadays are slutty as hell, but they're just much too straight-forward in their little escapades. Whatever happened to the seduction of foreplay and the high sexual tension orgasm? Sigh.

Anyways, how've you been?

Okay.. English is my language.
And even I don't know wtf that word is.
You're pretty damn good with it though.
You got the first and part of the second one right.

I think I used my med dictionary about 10 times more than I did a regular one. Those words are just really gross to learn, ha ha.

Young age? You've been checking up on me! :-)

But oh, it's such a long story. And the age thing never really works in my favor because I'm always working extra hard to convince people that I'm qualified. It also doesn't help that I'm cursed with eternal youth and will probably still look like I'm 16 when I'm 30 :-P

You told me your age silly :)

And i think its awesome that you will look young... that will help, in the long run!

MDMA! I had to think about that one too. My patients ask me about words all the time too, and sometimes, I don't know. My favorite one lately when I do post-op checks is when I asked this guy in Spanish if he's "passed gas" yet...

And he didn't know what I meant. So I showed him by blowing a raspberry, in which case we both had a good hearty laugh at 6 in the morning.

Ha ha ha, that's funny, and cute.

If it were me, I think I would just make the farting noises with my mouth, sans the rasberry, though I doubt that would be any more professional :-)
