Yeah, those are the worst, the abuse cases. It's always a dark time, no matter how you cut it.

Good entry. :)

So, are you a pediatrician, officially? Sorry, I'm eternally confused about all the steps in medical training, etc. Hehe.

On the policy of having pediatricians standing by in the OR: it's legal, not medical. Because really, parents are the most lawsuit happy "patients" I know, and no one wants to be holding the bag when the shit falls. Because really, how do you think John Edwards made his gajillion dollars ( ... )

1. What else is there to do in the delivery room? That either sounds like a peds-centric only view (and I hope that's what it is) and not a totally sexist view- hello!!!! Isn't there like a mom or something also in the room? Who could like, bleed? Who, like, is the obgyn's patient as well? Just a thought, man ( ... )

1. Well, okay, true, there's lot of stuff to do in the delivery room. I just meant there's really not much you can do for the baby in there.

2. Heh heh heh, glad we're in the same boat about derm.

3. So the problem is with the girls, eh? I always thought it would be the other way around. Weird.

4. True, true, can never be too trusting these days.

5. Really? If you hate internal medicine, why are you going into GI? Just to stick tentacle-y stuff up people's butts? :-P
