real people versus wow guildies

Okay, so... I have to admit that I've been actively trying not to write a lot about my WoW playing exploits or too much about my guild interactions. I think your thoughts on WOW and your mother's reaction to it, is something that can be applied to the broader template of online interactions. The level of intimacy you seem to achieve is pretty astonishing, depending on how much chat happens. It's hard for someone who's never had a friend-they-didn't-have-coffee-with to fully soak in the connection.

You just have to want it, and value it -
there are plenty of people who are on the 'net and in these games for the anonymity, and for the ability to disconnect from (people, the world, reality, etc).

That's part of why we have found such a great fit with Triumph - the leadership of this guild shares our value for interaction and personal connection. Last night we were on vent chatting about Jack Kerouac, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and the music of Ani DiFranco (among other things).
