Thanks! I wanted to make it to one year before I applied (not that I didn't think I would...but I just thought then I would have enough experience to feel comfortable providing someone else with support!)

Go to the user profile (http://community.livejournal.com/adopt_a_mom/profile) and you'll find links for an application. Basically, they try to match you with a mother who has breastfeeding experience who will be able to help to support you through your breastfeeding relationship. I was a mentee and it was great having the extra support and someone to ask questions of if I couldn't find the answers myself.

They ask you questions in your application that help to pair you up with someone who can benefit you the most. I would suggest you sign up if it interests you! :)

I just became a mentor. I'm really excited to help new mamas out.

feel free to sign up whenever - you can be matched with a mentor earlier to ask questions as you go through your pregnancy. :) I understand that the beginning is the hardest time...especially when problems come about! That's why it's so important to have as much support as possible. Breastfeeding seems like it would be a very natural thing...but it can take a lot of work and persistence! :)
