Doremidan, Vidoll, 12012, Versailles, Phantasmagoria
SHOCKWAVE in 大阪城野音
live at 大阪城野音, Osaka, Japan
August 30, 2008
Honestly speaking the event was a huge success. Though it would be strange if it wasn't. xD On the other hand my impression about it is quite controversial. But let's start with more positive things.
I won't say how it is to stand in the queue of more than a thousand VK dressed Japanese - you need to feel it yourself some day. You also need to realize how it feels to watch the whole scene though from a far but still somehow close, how it is to be a part of the whole event. You also need to imagine the show starts and your whole being screams "At last!". Though then you need patiently watch two performance of the bands you don't care much for and again noticing Tohru's appearance on scene you know "Now. Just a little bit more". And when they start - you recognize every single song cause you have listened to them so many times, you sing with them even though you know only parts of the lyrics but you just can't keep quiet - amaizing feeling. Really, those 5 songs were the best piece of the day.
But going back to the routine things. The weather was not that good, though it was about 25 but from time to time it started raining and, for example I believe the feeling of 12012's performance was a little bit ruined by it, since many started to wear raincoats at the moment. Another funny thing was the organisation itself which was perfect in its righteous but so far from the needs of ordinary people. They banned people from using umbrellas in case of rain, sitting on the walls in case you have standing sits and of course you weren't allowed to take photos. So, I have only Makoto's one which I was manage to take in the beginning of the event on my mobile phone. They suck since we were really far from the scene and it's mobile, you know ^^' Another thing I haven't come to liking were the behaviour of Japanese fans. I believe you've heard that they have those special moves you need to do in the particular part of the song. It sucks really >< I can't understand how you can enjoy the feeling of the music by doing something like that. Absolute nonsense as for me. Zero expression.
As for the bands - they were great. Even Doremidan and Vidoll which I were listen with quite a boresome look on the face. Everyone worked so hard on stage - not Vidoll though. xD Doremidan was great in their complete eccentricity. I still can't understand people who like their music since Makoto's voice is quite specific and you can't detect one song from another after 5 minutes of the show. But they're cute and their performance had that nice and warm feeling. Next were Vidoll and I think they suck. It was the only performance which were half audio recorded. Jui wasn't that good at live and I hardly could hear him at all. I believe if it wasn't prerecorder it wouldn't be heard at all. But how theatrics they were! -.-' May be it is the source of their success among the public - don't know and don't care much.
As I said before, the next were 12012. Everyone except Wataru were on the scene before the start so when Wataru came on scene I believe he was doing his best for everyone - theatrics all over xDD My friend commented on them as a live perfomance of host club members xD He was punished hard for this xD But they were great. I can say this hundreds times - they really were great! They've started with Cyclone, following by Kaleidoscope, Hello, seventeen (I'm not sure. I didn't recognize this one), Taiyou and they finished with Over. I thought it was really short performance though they played as much as everyone else. I wish they stayed more >< The next were Versailles. They were warm. I don't like the vocal much, though the guitars are awesome. *-* And then it was about 15 minutes break and Phantsmagoria appeared. In fact all event were mainly for them since it's their last live and as I understand the band is disbanded. Today they have their last live at Shibuya.
It's a pity. They really were great live. And I really like how they performed Hikari ni Furu Ame. It's a great song but it so reminds me of gazette's Sumire and Merry's Sayonara Ame xD But still nice ^-^
Thus unwittingly it all comes to an end. Need to say this was my first rock concert ever xD And the main thing I decided after - I definitely will go to Merry's live at 14th. xD
