got a letter from my Mother today. It merely said "no crap" and enclosed was a check for $200. Who knew that ranting and raving at her would have any effect at all? certainly not me. In 41 years I've never been able to change the woman's mind about anything. I was mostly upset that if she wanted to say no, she couldn't simply say no without ( Read more... )

It was a pleasure seeing you ladies tonight...even if I was a bit too honest for my own good.

I think moms are like that by nature...it's part of the reason why I am scared to have kids. I already am my mother, but I don't want to be LIKE HER when the kids arrive.

She never fails in having to put her 2million dollar opinion in. I love my mom, but sometimes...just sometimes she drives me fruity batty.

However, in the few times I've had to ask her for money (hellooo IRS and having to pay backtaxes since hubby didn't do taxes correctly), she has never, not once, made me feel like I'm an irrepsonsible adult.

but she does harp on other things that make me wish she would just rag on me for the other stuff...

My Mom nags about everything. Money is just one such subject. I get the "why aren't you married?" "Why'd you move to New Orleans?" "I'd really like a granddaughter" and my personal favorite "Not that you're going to listen to me, but...." ....and the list goes on, and on, and on. currently i'm taking the heat of the rest of the family by being the "bad kid." I'm fairly certain Dad bugged her into send the check.

Ultimately, I think part of the problem is that Mom is fruity batty and has been for years.
