As the day went by the owlery became too dimly lit to continue studying, so at around nine in the evening Allie put aside her Transfiguration book. She'd managed to get quite a bit done with only the company of owls coming and going to distract her. The library would've been full of other students, hardly a place where she could concentrate.

Sammi hummed lightly to herself as she walked up the steps to the Owlery. She hadn't sent a letter to any of her family in a while, and she felt that the time was right to change that. Something about Sunday meant letter day, and Sammi felt relaxed despite the threat of exams. She entered and saw the other person in the Owlery.

"Oh, hello," she said quickly, feeling distracted by the prescence of someone else. Then she recognised who it was.

"Oh, it's only you," she said, offering Allie a smile.

"Yeah, only me." She grinned, patting the floor next to her for her dormmate to sit.

"What are you doing up here, Sam?"

"Going to write to my family," she said, sitting next to Allie. "I haven't written in ages so I thought I'd tell them what's been happening."

"How about you?" she asked curiously, looking to Allie.

Allie shrugged, scrunching up her nose.

"Nothing anymore." She admitted as she pulled her legs into an indian style position.

"Was getting my study on.. then writing some letters."

She sighed.

"It's a dull night."

When Dwayne recieved the owl, he jumped on it over and over again. Soon, it was very wet and gross. But when Nate walked in, he croaked until the boy noticed the paper.

"Thanks, Dwayne," Nate said, reading the paper over. He smiled when he saw Allie's handwriting.

Allie,

Dwayne told me.
Don't worry, babe. We're still tight like PB&J.
The two of us missed you, though.

Allie,

I still can't believe you and Nikki are going to be gone next year....It's not going to be the same here without you.

Oh, please! You think I'd ever forget you? Never!

When have I ever passed up the chance to visit you over the summer? I'm so there!

Gwennie,

Maybe we shouldn't think of it as gone. I mean it's not like I wont write you, and you can come visit on holidays.

Gwenn.. I think I want to go to school.. You know, to actually do something with my life. Ha. Modelings fun and all, but I'm pretty sure there's more to life than being really, really good looking[/Zoolander] what I've made it to be. I kinda want to find out. You think I could make it?

Als,

I like that better, it definitely doesn't sound so scarey.

I think if you really want to do it, you can! All you have to do is work for it. You're smart, lovely, and if you really put your mind to it, I know you can.

So...what do you want to go to school to do?
