I don't understand meat eaters, I don't understand them at all..!?!

The thing that disgusts me about the majority of my fellow human beings is how they place a zero value on the life of their fellow animals. Yes I'm talking about eating meat, I'm also talking about people who are programed (so it would seem) to view ant/spider/cockroach/fly life as "vermin" (and thus kill these creatures too). The fact of the ( Read more... )

I have total respect for the discipline of vegetarians and the dedication to their cause, but I also know that I lack the strength of character to become one myself ( ... )

Yummy! I love meat. That's all I can really say on the topic. But I understand your point of view, too.

I don't understand what's so good about eating meat - honestly I just don't see the point.
Besides the fact that it is a cruel and barbaric system, I just don't understand it.
I agree. A life is a life. I guess that it is the fact that creatures such as insects are easy to kill. The value of them is not high on the majority of peoples concerns.
Ah, normal and programmed; now you have hit the nail on the button. It has taken me a while to just wave a fly away and hope that it does not come back. Yes, we all see our parents kill these insects and so are convinced that it is ok.
Yes, do not become one of those.

no apologies are needed

POINT OF VIEW

Thanksgiving dinner's sad and thankless
Christmas dinner's dark and blue
When you stop and try to see it
From the turkey's point of view.

Sunday dinner isn't sunny
Easter feasts are just bad luck
When you see it from the viewpoint
Of a chicken or a duck.

Oh how I once loved tuna salad
Pork and lobsters, lambchops too
Till I stopped and looked at dinner
From the dinner's point of view.
