Yuppers, you'll get gobbled in a heartbeat!
Kidding, sorry. Hehe, theres no sharks anywhere near the shore on Boracay. Even the dive shops rarely see them (although some claim to). Pretty much, its only the divers that go every day, 3 times a day - they 'might' see a shark or two once a week. And even then its waaaaaaaaayyy out in deep water like Yapak or Virgin Drop (25 to 30m deep). Those are small sharks too, pretty tame and dont give a care about people. Usually, they scoot off when people get close.
Nope, pretty much all of the sharks out here have been fished to death by the locals who eat any-and-every thing thats protected. It's not like surfing areas of Australia where they materialize out of thin air to snatch a swimmer. I dont know of anyone here that can remember ever seeing a shark near the shore.

lol. Thanks for that opening line. Makes me feel a lot better lol.
I've only been to boracay once. had fun. even rode a banana boat! (mind you even though I felt like my legs were eventually going to get eaten by a stray shark)
haven't been to boracay since though hopefully I'll be going back some time soon.
I suppose it's not just boracay though. I'm pretty paranoid about the shark thingy regardless of which beach I go to but then again hey I haven't been eaten yet. hehe
