da_norvegicus's dad (Tony) was young and single while his brother married and produced two children. Tony, being the sweet and kind uncle he was, gave the kids toy drums, cymbals, noisy firetrucks and all the rest of it.

Years later, Aunty Jane gave da_norvegicus the most ghastly autotune-not-working plastic bird-on-a-bike-that-played-"It's a Small World"-over-and-over-and-over... The look in her eye explained everything.

Amazing how fragile that toy bird was.

Ah yes. It's amazing how fast batteries "vanish" from extra loud toys here. Unfortunately, not everything can be dealt with that easily.
