Inara didn't have any parents coming this weekend, at least so far as she knew, nor did she have any superiors coming from Shinon.

Hopefully.

Still, it was as good an excuse as any to get some cleaning done, change over her linens, and pack away her summer clothes. After that, maybe a book.

Kaylee had some questions. It wasn't that she didn't know things, it was that she didn't know...things.

It was all very clear in her head.

So, she tapped lightly on Inara's door. "Hi 'nara!"

"Kaylee!" Inara beamed and motioned her inside. "It's good to see you again."

"How're you?" Kaylee asked warmly, bouncing in.

"I'm doing well, thank you. And you? Are you well?" She shoved a pile of fabric to the side so Kaylee could sit on the bed if she wanted.
