Film: Rampart
Director: Oren Movermen
Year: 2011
Starring: Woody Harrelson

Since these are half ass movie reviews, I'm basically just going to state simple things. First off, Woody Harrelson is a superb actor and all the actors in the film did a great job. The writing however was a bit loose in several ways, vague at times and a bit overly dramatic. The ending too was a bit strange. The main character however is rather interesting and throughout the film you are torn as to whether you like him or not. The cinematography was good as well. Overall it was a good film even if at times, it was a bit boring.

My Rating: 7/10

Film: The Descendants
Director: Alexander Payne
Year: 2011
Starring: George Clooney

I despised this movie with an intense passion and because I hated it to such an extent, I'm not even going to bother to read the review from the person who writes for the New York Post who called this damn film the best picture of the year. The writing was god awful and considering it's subject matter insulting to what it means to be human-and yes, I sound dramatic but I couldn't help but find that the characters in this film to be lacking in any appropriate reaction to what the film centers around. And no, I'm not going to delve into it because this review will turn into a rant. What parallelalism  that could be in the plot regarding the name "descendents" was completely abandoned by the screen writing and this shit turned into an irritating 2 hour trek of Clooney and his daughter wandering around looking for his dying wife's lover. One constantly asked themselves "What the fuck? Who are these insensitive people?" Not to mention that chipper Hawaiian music kept playing in the background only making the tone of the movie sporadic and turning the film to at times, unbearable. I wanted to get up and run away but since I was watching it with my dad, I finished it.

Horrible movie. Don't watch it.
