I think I have finally gotten my thoughts in order about the lastest episode of Doctor who.
Okay where to start... Time Skip. I usually hate time skips because its so easy to say three months later and all is well. During these three months the Doctor is kidnapped and stashed in Area 51, Amy and Co. travel over America (I assume to assess the level of infiltration by the Silent.) However, its never really made clear why Canton is tracking them down, unless it was a subliminal thing like the bowtie straightening... The recording devices aren't used until after the 3 months have passed so how is it they even remember anything about the Silent's at all?
On to Amy's pregnancy. I honestly thought that Amy being pregnant was just too simple to occur. However, pregnancy with a twist. (Which makes me thing that River being the Doctor's wife - with a twist - is more plausible). I've been trying to wrap my head around the timeline here. Assuming the Girl is Amy's baby, the when and where did the Silence snatch her from? Given that the Spaceman and a Silence creature were in 2011 then we know they can time travel... So its entirely possible that they kidnapped Amy, stole her child and then she forgot all of it. I think that part with the hatch was a triggered memory form her captivity? Maybe. I think if she is Amy's, she's human but the TARDIS mutated Amy giving the girls time energy powers...
Heck maybe the girl is the TARDIS personified?
As for the TARDIS not being able to tell if she's pregnant or not... I don't even know. My grasp of the timeline is so ... ack. I mean after the Big Bang we have a World without the Doctor. Can assume that the events of the past five seasons have not occurred in this timeline? And then suddenly the Doctor does exist and then what? And if the TARDIS is blowing up throughout all points in time... then how can the cracks even be in the Weeping Angels episode, as far as River is concerned in this episode they had all ready solved that problem. So here we have an instance that for River the cracks having been fixed and for the Doctor is still being a problem. So the idea of Amy being pregnant and not being pregnant... that got away from me a bit.
