Today we found something very exciting (at least it was for us!)... we had discovered that there might still be an open chimney in the larger of our spare bedrooms but were not expecting there to be a fire or hearth there. Burns Night - 210 years or so after the poet's death aged 37. Robert (Rabbie) Burns was the eldest of seven children, becoming famous as a poet aged 27 after a life as a farmer and then an excise man to supplement his income (even after achieving fame). Morning folks (only just - well it's my birthday and I wanted a lie-in, so neh!).
