Hmm. I'm much happier with Dumbledore this year. His banter toward Mr. Dursleys is pretty awesome. Of course, withered limbs are pretty much the bomb. It's nice to have him back. It's also nice to see the end of CAPSLOCK-HARRY, although he may resurface.

It's not entirely unexpected that Harry gets Sirius's inheritance; what surprises me is that Sirius had the foresight to make a will. Oh well, more gold is always a good thing. But is there anything else connected to the house that Harry would rather not inherit? A curse, a family requirement, some kind of behest? A quest?

Quick Fangirling

We now have a Canon cutoff date for Harry imbibing strong liquor, which means no "sneaking off for firewhiskey and lovin's in the Astronomy Tower" fics set before this summer. And hopefully fewer drinking-game fics.

Now, Dobby was able to defy his masters, even though he almost killed himself doing it, but Kreacher can't. How does that parse?

I like Dudley. I wish there was more of him here.

I didn't mention in chapter 2 that we got new Death Eater names, which I collect like stamps. Those were nice.
