I am going to babble a LOT now. Randomness:

Seeing Ted-Ted in his wildly popular, critically-acclaimed television debut made me wonder a little about where he came from. I've had him literally since I was born, and I've never seen anything like him -- he hasn't got a tag and never did, as far as I know. So I asked my dad where he came from. My gram got him for me, and dad says that most likely, she sent away for him with box tops that she'd been saving since before I appeared. I don't know if it's true, but I like the story and I'm going to believe it.

I'm seriously considering including a link to my livejournal in my Christmas cards to my college friends this year. What do you all think of the idea? Is it too tacky? Too dangerous? Just stupid?

Re-finished the book to make the ending wrap things up better. I love having lots of plot threads at once but sometimes it's a bugger to make sure they're all resolved.

I made a SAMMICH for dinner. Recipe as follows:
*Heat up some leftover turkey. Every one of you is going to have some of this on hand in about a week, so keep this sandwich in mind.
*Toast two pieces of bread. I used English Toasting Bread; this would also be a good sandwich for something more full-bodied, like wheat or rye.
*Fry up enough bacon to cover your bread. (Three strips did it for me.)
*When the bread is done, spread a teaspoon or so of Caesar salad dressing on one side. Pile it up with lettuce. Iceburg is pointless, so I used a mix of raddiccino, endive and romaine. Add the turkey. When the bacon is done, stick that in too. Eat immediately.

Mitya: I did some research into the origins of the word "sammich" and apparently it came from Pittsburgh, which I was surprised to find. I was also astonished to learn that Pittsburgh dialect has somehow become well-known across the country over the past five years. I know you do (or were going to do) a fictional livejournal in Pittsburghese; I was wondering whether you had heard of or knew anything about the regional dialect before you moved here. Just curious.

I have to go choose a font for the RFF calendar, or I'm afraid Cloudy will send Schvarts to my door with a semi-automatic.

Tsarmina: How many friend-codes do you get for getting an LJ paid account?

When I finally finish writing up the whole grisly story, I'll post here about the events of Wednesday -- my first solo engineering field assignment ever.

If you're into music *dschfoxyfennectwapakimperscoughcough*, or even if you're not, go to scionofgrace's LJ and take the music survey she's got up.
