I have some substantial willpower but no self-control: so over the last few days I've read through chapter 20. I want to register my crackpot theories so that a) I remember them and b) I can claim awesomeness if by some miracle I'm right.
(
Theories, as of Chapter 20. Also short notes. )

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that OotP was weak. I don't even think I bothered to read it a second time, as opposed to the three, four, five times I've read each other book. Book three was my favorite. As much as I didn't like HBP, it's still the best-written. And darkest. I advised my family not to let the kids read it, cause even I had a hard time dealing with how dark and violent it's become since Voldemort is back.

I think Scrimgeour may have kept Percy around for the same reason Fudge did originally - to keep some sort of connection with the Weasleys and to exploit it. He must have found out that Harry was staying with the Weasleys over break, because it didn't really look like Percy wanted to visit them at all.

Ha, I forgot about Kreacher's present! That was a laugh-out-loud moment for sure.
Wandless question: I'm now re-reading OotP and I had forgotten about Harry casting Lumos when he wasn't actually holding his wand. So she's got to address that sometime, right?
See, you can't hate Luna! She's priceless!
