Return of the ... Me.

Back from the beach: I'm burnt, sore, and bitten, my car is filthy, my shoes smell like mud, I slept on the ground and ate junk for several days, and I feel great. An extremely good vacation.

I saw Batman Begins at home, with the brother and sister and future brother-in-law, and we agreed that while many of the individual parts were cool, it made ( Read more... )

Janice Elsheimer, writer of the Creative Call, would say that wordcount is probably the more important thing.

Haha, but my parents would say that the laundry is more important.

I Googled that book and it doesn't sound like it would be so useful to me; more of a "get off your butt and create" message, which, having finished eight books in the past four years, is not something I need to hear. Besides, I avoid books on writing. I'm afraid it'll influence me too far in one direction, and that's time I could be writing instead.

(The exception being The Elements of Style by Strunk and White. Strunk and White, how I love you.)

Scarecrow, or whatever it was the fellow was called when not the Scarecrow, had the best lips in the entire movie. He may have also had the prettiest eyelashes.

And I read this last night and then forgot to check for the book about female pirates that my library has. Will check tomorrow and come up with name suggestions. Because I have fun doing things like that.

Yes. He was extremely pretty. And he can act too, 28 Days Later proves it.

Thanks for the pirate research! I'm sure that No-Name Greenshell thanks you too.

Well, the only one-name one is from an old story about a princess of the Goths who turned pirate to avoid an arranged marriage, only to eventually have her pirate-ship overtaken by the navy, led by the fellow who was to be her husband. Legend says they marry and live happily ever after.

Her name was Alvilda, if the story hasn't put you off.

Ooooh, wait! Montmorillion, a female smuggler. "The queen of smugglers" to quote the book.
