3M has these foam tab thingies that come of beautifully when you're done with them. Ostensibly they're adhesive for these little plastic hooks they sell, but you can buy 'em seperate, and they've worked brilliantly on several of my favorite posters/pictures (especially this heavy matted copper dragon thing).

I suppose the adhesive backing on these velcro thingies count as sticky stuff on the wall but that's what I did. So far it's worked out pretty good. I just hope I never have to take them down. (Actually, it may peel off alright. I just haven't actually tried it.)
