I just signed up for the Food Stamp Challenge for hunger awareness week. Participants eat for a week on the maximum budget of food stamps for their household size, which in my case is $38.75; no pre-existing food is permitted. (Although I might use some of that but take out its cost from the budget.) I'm getting in a little late, but I'm excited to ( Read more... )

Hi. your HP fanfics came up as a recommendation to read. I'm friending you so that I can find you to read. Just wanted to let you know. Not an e-stalker or anything!

You know, I'm actually pretty amenable to e-stalkers. You meet the most interesting people that way. :)

All my fics are on FF.N, under this user name. It's been years since I finished posting them--I'm touched that someone's still reading them! Speaking of recommendations, make sure to swing by Giesbrecht and Trinity Day while you're there, and go here for Tess Fawcett's Love on the Quidditch Pitch. I'm probably supposed to recommend flister ms_katonic at this point, but to be honest I never read her Slytherin Rising series. Well, okay, I'll recommend her anyway.

=D

The Serpent's Society series where recommended to me. Are you going to finish them through Book 7? Just curious.

Thanks for the other rec's. I'm always open to good fanfic.

Nice to meet ya!

Just a note... If you want a more... challenging... food challenge, you should eat on my food budget: $95/month. And it's not unusual for me to be cooking for two people, either. True, occassionally I go over. But, I've had months where I've spent $65 on groceries. It's actually not that hard, once you make a point of eliminating everything that isn't Aldi store brand, and then decide to not buy many snacks.
