Darkest Before the Dawn

I have seen The Dark Knight! If you have, and I know you have because the whole world saw it before I did, post a link to your relevant LJ post so I can see what everyone thought without going through a month of archives.

My own observations to follow, if I'm not too busy over lunch.

I didn't really make a post. Well, I did, but it was a whiny no-comments anger post. But I thought the treatment of Rachel Dawes was BS, and the nonexistence of Renee Montoya & Babs Gordon drove me up the fucking wall.

HOWEVER, Heath Ledger, fight scenes, Batman being ridonkulous, Two-Face's makeup, all awesome.

Re: Barbara: I know!! I was like, Who is this "Jimmy" person, little baby Batgirl is right there. What screwball decided that Gordon's daughter wasn't poignant enough?

I theorize that it was because they would have preferred not to give Gordon a daughter in this movie AT ALL. They don't want to even entertain the notion that their dark, badass batman would work with a bunch of teenagers in ridiculous costumes. >_>

I've been going over and over in my head with it, trying to figure out how they could ever fit Robin into this universe...but I can't think of any way to do it that doesn't end in juvenile delinquency and accusations of pedophilia.

I didn't make a post, but here's my thoughts:
It was a good movie. One I would like to NOT see again for several years, at least.

The plot was all over the place, and I felt confused during any given scene, but somehow the whole managed to make sense.

This is an art film, not a superhero movie. It's deep and dark and not very fun. But still good.

I have not seen it yet but I did read the plot synopsis on wiki.

We are going to go see it this weekend and I'm intrigued by who was killed off and I am wondering if Heath's acting will live up to the hype.

I'm also intrigued by your Robin comment. That is a good point. Batman3 messed it all to hell in the movie world and I really didn't like the way they worked it in the cartoons although once husband explained it to me, it kind of made sense.

No posts to link to, but I thought it was fantastic- that was the most fun I've had watching a movie in years. The script, the acting, the special effects- oh my gosh, that subtractive CGI alone must have been monstrous to pull off, and they only got to showcase it for like fifteen minutes! Everything just blended together into a big ball o' awesome, and it thoroughly exceeded my expectations.

Aha, I finally saw 'The Dark Knight' last Saturday.

I really liked it. I thought it was a great movie. The Joker was the best in my opinion. The movie wouldn't be the same without him. My only problem with the movie was that the cops were so dumb and it got kinda predictable there at the end. Kind of. Otherwise, I really, really liked it and I will be buying it when it comes out on video.
