Each individual die-off seems to be fairly common, and have a clear or at least typical cause. It's coming all at once that's weird--and I figure each additional event is making the next ones more likely to become international news rather than local. If I wanted to make a guess down at the hardware store with a stalk of hay between my teeth, I'd wonder if the fish weren't residual BP oil spill casualties. But I'm pretty sure scientists would have noticed, predicted, or guessed that already, if they were. So I guess I'm not actually worried, just curious. And annoyed at the Chesapeake Bay die-off, because spot are darn tasty.
