What ever happened to that green flame torch?

Large news from The Leaky: JKR has posted the title of the sixth book behind that blame door that won't open. Apparently somebody managed it, bless them, so the word is out: Concealed here for your, um, nonspoilerness. Spoilerlessment? Despoilerity.

Do not read this unless you are a ravening Potter fan. )

I don't like the title either. It's like, dude, ... not that you can award huge points for brilliant memorability to a series of Harry Potters ands, but the other ones do have a sort of ring. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It sounds pulpish, almost, like a boy's adventure novel -- but only almost. If you took off the Harry Potter, the titles would work for your average mainstream fantasy novel. The titles are sort of a mix between the kid and the fantasy and designed to appeal to both. I guess. I just like the books. :D

But Half-Blood Prince, unlike the others, isn't a title that would interest me on a shelf. It immediately makes me think of the half naked scroungy angst-boys that are associated with those kind of titles.

I know the book won't be anything like that. I think I'm concurring I don't dig the title.

It's awful that I can't remember who Mark Warren is! X.x

Wasn't Neville a half-blood too? I could have sworn that was part of the prophecy.....

Huh . . . I sort of assumed that 'Half Blood Prince' referred to Tom Riddle, I guess because Leaky's saying it was the working title for the Chamber of Secrets, where he plays majorly. Unless the identity of the said prince has changed since then, that makes the most sense to me, anyway. Though, I'll admit, it hadn't even occured to me that it might be someone else, so it's not like I put a lot of thought into it.

And Mark Evans is definitely interesting . . . JKR simply doesn't throw in things for no reason. So there's got to be something behind him, right, maybe? (Or maybe she KNOWS fans will say that and threw this in just to throw us off . . . !)

Please oh dear god no.
She really needs a smack upside the head.

And I've found myself just sitting at the screen for minutes at a time because Maebon's sig dance is just that cool.

You guys have set it to music, right? Right?!
Because it goes with almost anything. So far the best songs we've found to set them to are "I Drink Alone" by George Thorogood and "Du Hast" by Rammstein. Some of those kicks have such perfect timing... It's the greatest. ^___^
