Well I would call the baby oil experiment a success. However one bath did not get all of the baby oil out of their coats. A second one might be required. The hair just melted off of them though, which was the entire point of doing this. And they are very soft and shiny. I'd definitely recommend trying it

I used to give my horse mineral oil baths in the spring to get rid of the yucky winter hair and dead skin, it worked like a charm!
You take a bottle of mineral oil and dump like half of it into a bucket of warm water. Sponge the mixture all over the horse and then toss on a blanket or two to keep the mixture all warm so it soaks in better. Let horse stand for like 15-20 mins and then rinse off.
