Hear, hear. Me neither. It was all I could do to get one day for my birthday. It's rough!
I did go to Richmond for a writing conference. You would have really enjoyed the Thursday night lecture. It was by a Washington Post style writer named Hank Stuever. Are you familiar with his work?
I swear, it was like listening to David Sedaris talk for two hours about feature writing. This guy has the most warped, wonderful way of looking at the world. For whatever reason, he made me think of you.
Check out this story he used as a talking point. (It's not his own, but it's hilarious.) The infamous Taquito story.
You also might want to check out the rest of the blog that that post comes from - it's pretty neat.
