Chroncile of Two Theories
I don't see many movies in the theater these days, but did see Chronicle (2012), about which I have a theory.
My ideas for how Chronicle could have wound up being edited together in-continuity, although I freely admit the film itself offers little support for these theories:
1) The footage is edited together as a training/warning film for the test subjects the government secret agency that wound up with the alien probe will be testing it on. Later they will escape, and I will run their adventures using Psi*Run.
2) Edited together by the off-camera psychic, a girl who found the probe first, followed the 3 males around but did not do dumb things with her powers because she wasn't a teen boy with father issues.
The key point is the footage from the first camera, the one left behind at the [spoiler thingy]. Since it's unlikely the filmer ejected the tape as he [spoiler], someone must have recovered it.
I was only a little disappointed that there was no after credits hijinx. It would have been too much to expect Nick Fury to show up to offer a job.
