Good God. The New York Times has a section up of responses to the Prop 8 decision from five different law professors, but one, titled Promoting the Ideal of Procreation just made me incensed. This woman is advancing the argument that same-sex marriages are inferior and needn't be recognized because they can't produce biological children. She calls

Plus if it was really all about child bearing we should we bring back divorce/annulments for barrenness? Or really couples shouldn't get married at all until they have a baby right?

Precisely! Of course, we couldn't have out of wedlock births, so I guess shotgun weddings are the way to go.
