Facetiously - Daniel Webster. These days he's only famous and respected for a fictional case.

Semi-facetiously - Johnny Cochran. I'm not saying he's respected for good reasons, mind you.

Are you limiting it to people who are famous for being lawyers, as opposed to (say) judges? If not, I'd think John Marshall.
